Look at some of the things we have accomplished:

  • Identified community problems (challenges)
  • Researched Underlying Problem of Land Pollution
  • Brainstormed possible solutions
  • Used criteria based problem solving techniques to select solutions
  • To implement upcoming projects to adddress land pollution in East Orange
  • Came in Second Place at the New Jersey State Bowl
  • Invited to compete at the International CmPS Conference in Connecticut
  • Placed second at the International CmPS Conference in Connecticut
  • Made a video presentation to the community at a Board of Education meeting
  • Created a partnership with the Public Works Department of East Orange
  • Cleaned litter from the vacant lot
  • Met and discussed plans of beautifying the lot with the Mayor
  • Visited Pleasant Dale Nursery to discuss types of plants for the vacant lot
  • Created a brochure to inform and survey other urban areas about land pollution
  • Acquired a vacant lot in East Orange to beautify
  • Make periodic land pollution commericials to be aired on local access television
  • Created a Web Site to inform others about land pollution
